As an experienced non-executive director, chair and executive director, Irene has worked for non-profit organisations and a Global Systemically Important Bank (GSIB) listed on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges. She is currently based in the UK, has lived in Canada and is fluent in English and German.

Irene has held global roles across multiple geographies with proficiency in managing diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels while being able to manage the intricacies of varying leadership styles and expectations, business units, regulators, boards of directors, and stakeholders. She has extensive experience in risk management, governance and regulatory compliance that spans Wholesale Banking, Treasury and Insurance.  

Experience includes creating and implementing conduct and culture programs and navigating complex governance structures (subsidiary and parent) as well as diverse operating models (functional, local, and federated) that bring about sustainable organizational change.

Known for her ability to create structure out of ambiguity and creative problem-solving, while securing stakeholder buy-in and moving large-scale transformations forward are key strengths.

As a champion of inclusion and diversity, Irene prioritises diverse perspectives that foster creativity and engagement. Through clear communication and a strong vision, she aligns teams with strategic goals while nurturing talent to ensure each individual contributes their best to the organisation.

Non-Executive Director experience includes national and local sporting bodies in triathlon and a women’s centre that empowers women to make long term positive changes with courage.

Irene is a three-time age group athlete representing Canada at world triathlon championships.
